Admittedly, it is noble for AOC to focus on climate change. But she, like French President Emmanuel Macron, gave industry and the military a pass on climate destruction. Instead, she has decided to extract climate justice outcomes first from, you guessed it, public housing residents. As a result, she threatens to add to the suffering and misery amongst average people. AOC is blind to how her green ''New Deal'' plan makes NYCHA residents wait years for basic, but emergency, repairs, like upgrades to heating systems. Without emergency upgrades in heating, NYCHA tenants face another winter where up to 90 per cent. of residents will experience heat outages.

Fight For NYCHA is a collective of tenants, activists, artists, and advocates, who are providing technical support to NYCHA tenants to self-determine the future of public houisng in New York City. We oppose Mayor Bill de Blasio's plan to put 1/3 of NYCHA into the hands of private landlords. We reject Mayor de Blasio's proposal, because the money exists to save NYCHA. We just have to change our priorities. Learn more about our People's Budget to fully-fund NYCHA.
